Paranormal experience North Carolina
I remember going to a summer camp for young teens when I was about 13 years old. The camp was located in the Appilation Mountains of North Carolina. There were miles of raw forest surround the camp in the wilderness ironically located in Transylvania County.
Almost immediately upon arriving there, stories about a man only known as "Chester the molester" began to circulate amoung the peers at the camp. The story goes like this: A man in the mid-80's used to visit the camp late at night and kidnapped young teens. The only trace he left, was a maple leaf on the pillow of the victim.
This lasted for 2 years, and a local man-hunt for this man eventually began. The camp was closed down as well. After several years of searching the surrounding area for Chester, the man hunt was given up; with the assumption that he had retreated deep into the wilderness never to be seen again. The camp would re-open some years later after the investigation went cold.
Back to the story of my encounter. It was late one evening and we were playing a massive game of Capture the Flag. There were no boundaries in this game. We had full access to utilize our skills in the forest to get the jump on the flag from behind. Defence was thick around the flag on the opposing team. So, me and a group of 2 friends ventured about 3 miles into the forest looking to come up from behind.
When we were in position to begin approaching the flag from behind, we happened accross a small mobile home in the middle of nowhere. Literally, nothing was around it. It was thickly overgrown with blackberry vines and undergrowth of the forest. Us, being the brave guys that we were, we decided to go inside.
It took us some time to determine who was the bravest, so I eventually stepped up and gave it a go. The door was unlocked. I quickly decided not to open it fully, but knocked first to make sure no squatter or hostile person was there. I heard no footsteps or answer, so I opened it and cautiosly stepped over the thorns blocking the entrance.
The inside of the small trailer was completely hollow. No couches, beds, sink, fridge, cabinets, etc. The only things in there were a small TV (I believe around 20" box screen) and a cheap VCR. The TV was somehow on with only a blue screen being displayed. My friends cautiously followed behind me. We all found it odd that a TV could operate in the middle of nowhere without electric. Immediately, we all thought of the story of Chester. We booked it. We managed to get back to camp just as the last bit of light crept behind the trees.
We told our counselors immediately what we had seen. They agreed that it wasn't safe to go to this place in the dark, but that we would look for it in the morning. Morning arrived, and we immediately ventured to the area where we had been.
The surroundings were identical to where we had been the previous night. Yet, shockingly, the trailer was gone. There was a perfect rectangle on the ground that showed that something heavy and of the shape of a trailor was recently there. The brush was still thick around the area the trailor was, but not a bit of growth within the rectangle. The counselors wrote it off as a dilusional story we had fabricated and the matter was dismissed.
I have lost touch with the people who experienced this event with me. I want to say that one of them was named "James" and had a sister that attended our sister camp. So James, if you somehow find this story and you remember, please help bring cause to unexplained phenomena.
I can't explain what I saw. The forest was too thick to move a trailor very far in any direction that fast. I also can't explain how there was electricity, except if there ware a car battery under the house that was used to power the small TV. I'd like to go back one day to investigate. And for anyone that may have ever attended this camp, any odd encounters you have had while there are highly encouraged with this group!
The pic is the mess hall of the camp. Anyone that attended the camp would remember it well.
